The Best Vinyl Players for Every Listener: 3 Options from Budget to Luxury

In a world of digital streaming, vinyl records give you an escape to the good old days. Whether you are listening to the classics or buying more modern records a great turntable is essential. There are a lot of options out there, as always on Frika we like to makes things easy for you, therefore we will give you three solid options depending on what you’re looking for.

Best Overall Turntable: Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo

The first turntable is a perfect mix of performance for price, it really stands out as the ideal choice for the average vinyl enthusiast. The pro-ject offers high sound quality, it’s carbon-fiber tonearm reduces vibration which makes it deliver crisp and clear audio.

When you feel the quality of this turntable you will know it’s built to last. It’s heavy steel platter combined with vibration-dampening feet makes it perform in every environment.

It comes with a pre-installed Ortofon 2M red cartridge so that you can start listening to your vinyl records right away. The turntable also supports 33, 45 and 78 RPM records, thus you should be able to listen to nearly any collection.

Price: approximately $600

Best for Budget: Audio-Technica AT-LP70XBT

This turntable is more budget friendly but still comes with great features and quality. This turntable lets you connect to headphones or speakers through Bluetooth, this means no wires but still good sound.

Whether you’re playing standard LPs (33 1/3 RPM) or singles (45 RPM), this player has you covered. A simple button makes switching between speeds effortless. It also lowers the tonearm for you and stops the record when it’s done. These features makes it semi-automatic which is easier to use for a beginner.

Even though the price is really low, the quality feels solid. Unfortunately Frika haven’t tried it out for a longer period but the overall build feel good. If you’re buying your first turntable and want to keep the expense to a minimum this is a great option.

Price: Approximately $250

Best for high-end: Cambridge Audio Alva TT V2

For the ones looking to get the very best, the Cambridge Audio Alva TT V2 is exceptional. This turntable has a direct drive motor instead of a belt-driven, this lets you focus more on the music instead of adjusting.

It’s easy to use with a built in preamp to connect it directly to speakers. Bluetooth is also an option but I would not recommend it when using a turntable of this quality.

Just like expected the build is elegant and solid. Every detail feels premium and even though Frika haven’t tried this during a long period of time you can tell it will last. If you are looking to make a great investment into a turntable that will provide quality on every level this is the one for you.

Price: Approximately $1500
